Obituary of Shirley Marlene Rogers

SHIRLEY MARLENE ROGERS

Shirley Marlene Rogers, 76, of Bethesda, Ohio, was welcomed into her eternal home, January 4, 2019.  She was born in Barnesville, Ohio, June 4, 1942, daughter of the late Kenneth Lightfoot and Clara Lollathin Lightfoot.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Rogers and sister, Darlene VanDyne.

Shirley’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who survive; son, Kenny Rogers of Bethesda; grandchildren, Michael Rogers (Danielle Duke) and Christine (Jacob) Rosen; ex-granddaughter-in-law, Amanda Rogers; and six great-grandchildren.

A lifetime member of the Bethesda Church of the Nazarene, Shirley’s greatest blessing and most precious gift was her love for her family.  She enjoyed attending her grandson’s professional wrestling shows, camping, shopping, and loved giving, which she did with great joy.

Family and friends are invited to visit, Tuesday from 5 to 7 pm and Wednesday from 11 am until the time of service, beginning at noon, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio.  Pastors Guy and Cheryl Norris officiating.  Interment will be held, privately, at the family’s convenience.
