So sad to hear about Shirley. She made me laugh so many times and I enjoyed spending time with her at the Nazarene Churches. Great lady and I will miss her.

I have many wonderful memories of my friend Shirley!! She was one of my wonderful supporters from the Bethesda Church of the Nazarene when my husband, one of her pastors, died. Shirley and Janie Emory sat with me during the long night at the hospital waiting for the coroner and with others from the church, checked on me afterwards. There were wonderful memories of practicing and singing with her, fun church parties with lots of laughter, cleaning the church, VBS, her family, and worshipping the Jesus she loved. She was involved in her grandchildren’s education and encouraged Chrissy in her music and band. I will miss her, but know she is healed and safe in the arms of Jesus!

I’m going to miss Shirley, as I miss Darlene ( her sister ) they was always coming to Akron to stay with me, they were the busiest 2 sisters I ever seen, going shopping every day they were here. She drove a van that was packed full when they left here. My heart is aching, I’m gonna miss her dearly.but several times I talked to her in the past year, she kept telling me,” I’m ready to go home, I wish the good lord would just take me” she wanted to go on to heaven, and God has granted her wish, I know she is finally happy
