Obituary of Margy L. Iams
MARGY L. IAMS
Margy L. Iams, 79, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2018 at Wheeling Hospital. She was born June 27, 1939 in Brownsville, Pennsylvania, daughter of the late Allen B. Wilhelm, Sr. and Doris J. Simpson Wilhelm.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. Iams, Jr.
Margy’s memory will be cherished always by those who survive; daughter, Lynn Iams (Jeff Rothman) of Shaker Heights, Ohio; sons, John Iams (Polly Potochnik) of Barnesville, Ohio, Paul (Tammy) Iams of Senecaville, Ohio, Mark Iams of San Diego, California, James (Trudy) Iams of Wilton, Maine; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters, Barbara (Robert) Lockwood of Melbourne Beach, Florida, Susanne Wilhelm (David Arnold) of Anacortes, Washington; and brother, Allen (Loretta) Wilhelm, Jr. of Mentor, Ohio.
Margy was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Barnesville, where she served as a deacon. She loved music and especially enjoyed playing the piano. She retired from 5B’s Embroidery and Screen Printing. In recent years, she enjoyed golf, playing cards at the Elks, and was an avid reader. She was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother.
The family will receive guests, Saturday, December 15th from 11 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service, which will begin at noon, at the First Presbyterian Church of Barnesville, 124 N. Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Reverend Sam Monte officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Deacons’ Fund at First Presbyterian Church of Barnesville or Barnesville Hutton Memorial Library, 308 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio 43713.
The family has entrusted Margy’s care with Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, Barnesville, Ohio.
