The service for Esther will beginning at 10:30 a.m., Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Pastors David Bloor and Andrew Thompson officiating.

Interment

Interment will follow at Belmont Cemetery, Belmont, Ohio.

Obituary of Esther Neuhart

ESTHER BOND NEUHART

Esther Bond Neuhart, 92, of Belmont, Ohio, was welcomed into her eternal home on Thursday, November 1, 2018.  Born December 1, 1925 in New Concord, Ohio, she was the daughter of Dewey L. Bond and Josephine I. White Bond.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death in 2016 by her husband of 69 years, Emmett R. Neuhart; infant daughter, Diane Louise; and sister, Evelyn Beck McMasters.

Esther’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who survive her; daughter, Valerie Neuhart of Crystal Lake, Illinois; son, John R. (Sarah) Neuhart of Avon, Indiana; grandchildren, Rich Mena, Audrey Mena, Heidi Neuhart, Micaela Neuhart, and Josh (Megan) Neuhart; great-grandsons, Gideon Neuhart, Ellis Neuhart, and Leo Neuhart; sisters, Jean (Bill) Sponseller of Greeville, South Carolina, Jan (Charlie) Rice of Warren, Ohio; and brother, John Bond of Amanda, Ohio

Growing up on the Bond Orchard and dairy farm, Esther drove the orchard trucks and helped in the hay fields.  A 1943 graduate of Belmont High School, she was class Valedictorian as well as the last surviving class member   After graduating from Muskingum College, she was  hired as a teacher in the New Concord school system.  During her teaching career, she taught English, Physical Education, Home Economics, as well as proctoring study halls in the New Concord, Bellville, and Belmont school districts, including her last year at Union Local School District.   She also taught student teachers at Muskingum College.

A woman whose faith was a guiding path in her life, she taught Sunday school at the Belmont United Methodist Church for many years.  A member of the Belmont Garden Club, she loved nature and all God’s beautiful creations, and provided the altar arrangements for Belmont United Methodist Church on Sundays.
