Obituary of Betty Jean Vale

BETTY JEAN VALE

Betty Jean Vale, 88, of Flushing, Ohio, passed away on Monday, May 28, 2018 at Park Health Center.  Born April 29, 1930 in Cadiz, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Wilbur and Viola (Dunfee) Singer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Vale in 2016; sisters, Shirley Fisher and Dorothy Bethel; and brother-in-law, Jim Retzer.

Betty is survived by her daughter, Andrea Vale of Houston, Texas; son, Jeff Vale of Flushing, Ohio; sisters, Leona Retzer and Beatrice (Emerson) Rarick all of Lancaster, Ohio; and brothers-in-law, Richard Fisher of Mansfield, Ohio and Carl Bethel of Old Washington, Ohio.

She was a member of Rock Hill Baptist Church, enjoyed craft shows, and crocheting afghans for any and all occasions.  Having the ability to make anything grow with her green thumb, she was especially proud of growing African Violets with their beautiful and colorful petals. Betty’s most important and greatest calling was being a wife and mother, taking care of her family, and sharing her talent, as a tremendous cook and baker.

Family and friends are welcome to visit, Thursday from 5-8 pm and Friday from 10 am until the time of service, beginning at 11 am, Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio.  Pastor Bob Merritt officiating.  Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Colerain, Ohio
