Obituary of Charles L. Thornburg

CHARLES THORNBURG

Charles L. Thornburg, 66, of Arnoldsville, Georgia formerly of the Bellaire area, died April 4, 2018 at Barnesville Hospital.  He was born December 21, 1951 in Norfolk, Virginia, to the late Oscar and Emma Thornburg.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Gary Thornburg.

Charles will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 31 years, Karen Thornburg of Arnoldsville, Georgia; daughters, Christy (Rick) Wilson of Beallsville, Ohio, Margaret (Zak) Szafran of Yorkville, Ohio; son, Charles Thornburg, Jr. of Arizona; grandchildren, Felicia and Faith Thornburg, Austin Dabrowski, Edge and Link Szafran, Cory Woodford, and “Little Bud” Thornburg; and great-grandson, John Thornburg.

An airbrush artist, Charles loved his career and creating a high level of realism in his airbrush designs.  He was proud of being a husband, father, and grandfather.  He was strong, yet gentle; caring and compassionate and his memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved.

In honoring Charles’ wishes, there will be no visitation or service.  The family will have a private interment at a later date. 

The family has entrusted Charles’ care with Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, Bethesda, Ohio.
