Obituary of Doris J. Stewart

DORIS STEWART

Doris J. Stewart, 78, of Barnesville, Ohio, died on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at Emerald Pointe Nursing and Rehab.  She was born November 1, 1939 in Barnesville, Ohio, to the late Harvey and Clara Ridgeway Burghy.

She was a loving, devoted mother and grandmother and shared a special love and bond with her brothers and sisters.  Because of  Doris’ love for family and caring nature, she chose to become a Nurse’s Aid for Star Nursing Home, sharing her love and support on a daily basis to those in need, as well as giving her special touch to their families.  She was a former member of Bethesda Christian Church and a current member of First Baptist Church of Richlands North Carolina, where she remained in touch with those whose lives were touched by her gentle and caring heart.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Francis VanCuren, Kate Jurovich, Margie Temple and brothers, Willard, Jim, and Glenn Burghy.

Doris will be sadly missed and touched the lives of those she is survived by; her children, Marvin (Margie) Stewart of New York, Jeffrey (Sally) Stewart of Wellington, Ohio, Susan (Ted) Smith of Tennessee, and Carol (Jeff) Lucas of Alaska; grandchildren, Wesley Stewart, Erica Robertson, Ashley Ambrozic, Kyle Osborne, Zachary and Trenton Lucas; and eight great-grandchildren.

Honoring Doris’ wishes, there will be no visitation or service.  Interment will be private, taking place at the convenience of her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Doris' memory to:  Hospice of Guernsey, 9711 East Pike Road, P.O. Box 1165, Cambridge, Ohio 43725.
