A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9 a.m., St. Vincent De Paul Church, 164 West Market Street, Akron, Ohio. Father Joseph Kraker presiding.

Interment

A private interment will follow at Northlawn Memorial Gardens, Peninsula, Ohio.

Obituary of Patricia J. Kirn

PATRICIA KIRN

Patricia A. Kirn, 82, of Akron, Ohio, was welcomed into her eternal home on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, at Danbury Senior Living.  Born November 29, 1934 in Akron, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Maurice Jost and Myrtle Heft Jost.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, with whom she is joyfully reunited with, Walter “Tom” Kirn, and grandson, Andrew Kirn.

Patricia is survived by her daughter, Polly (Dave) Patron of Canton, Ohio; sons, John and Mike Kirn of Akron, Ohio, Jim (Holly) Kirn of Columbus, Ohio; grandchildren, Jennifer, Matthew (Siobhan), Angela, Mikala Kirn, David Jr. Patron (Caroline Macko) and Mary Patron (Bryan Boyd), Madison Kirn; great-grandchildren, Layla, Devin, and Aiden; and sisters, Phyllis Monahan of Melbourne, Florida and Marilyn (Jim) Sturmi of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.

She was a member of St. Vincent De Paul Church and TWIGS.  She was a graduate of the University of Akron, where she was a member of the sorority Alpha Delta Pi.  A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Patricia was a strong, confident, woman whose passion to nurture led her to teaching and making a difference in the lives of children at Schumacher School for 35 years. She was a lifetime member of Schumacher PTA.

The family would like to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to Danbury of Massillon and Great Lakes Hospice.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Patricia’s memory, to a charity of the donor’s choice.

The family has entrusted Patricia’s care to Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, Bethesda, Ohio.
